Pet Owners

I am currently selecting a limited number of canine participants for an academic case study program. This program is a core requirement of my Galen Myotherapy certification and focuses on observational muscular support through two distinct paths: Wellness (no referral required) and Supportive Care (DVM referral required).

Is Your dog a Candidate?

  • Path A (Wellness): Healthy, active, or sporting dogs, and healthy seniors with general stiffness. No veterinary referral is required to begin.

  • Path B (Supportive Care): Dogs with diagnosed conditions (such as OA or Dysplasia) or those recovering from surgery. Requires a signed veterinary consent form.

  • Study Requirements: To ensure accurate results, participants must not be receiving other concurrent physical therapies (hydrotherapy, chiropractic, etc.) during the study.

PROFESSIONAL COLLABORATION

  • A Tailored Approach: For healthy dogs, we begin immediately to support wellness and longevity.
  • Veterinary Partnership: For dogs under medical care, participation is only possible with the signed consent of your primary veterinarian to ensure my work complements their existing care.
  • Safe & Professional: I do not diagnose or treat medical conditions; I focus on muscular comfort and always refer back to your DVM for any health concerns.

What is Required of You & Your Dog

  • The Commitment: The program requires a total of three sessions to accurately track and document your dog’s progress over time.
  • The Timing: To allow for the best results and observation of muscular change, sessions are typically scheduled 10–12 days apart.
  • Owner Consent: A signed liability waiver and consent form are required for all participating dogs before our first session.

  • Veterinary Courtesy Notice: For healthy dogs in our Wellness Program, a professional courtesy notice is sent to your veterinarian to keep them informed of our focus on your dog's wellness.

  • The Restriction: To ensure the specific effects of myotherapy can be accurately assessed, the dog must not be receiving other concurrent physical therapies (e.g., hydrotherapy, chiropractic, acupuncture) for the duration of the study.

Veterinary collaboration

  • Reporting: A final report is prepared upon completion of the three sessions.
    • Path A (Wellness): This report is provided to you for your own records and can be shared with your veterinarian if requested.
    • Path B (Supportive Care): This report is provided to you and your veterinarian for their records.
  • The Content: This report includes objective summaries of postural/movement observations and session notes gathered during the program.

  • The Goal: These observations are intended to support long-term health and wellness by providing detailed, non-diagnostic data regarding your dog’s posture and movement.

Howard: My inspiration and soon-to-be 18-year-old legend. He’s living proof of why I do what I do.
