Your Dog's Path to Wellness: Services & Our Approach

A Partnership in Your Dog's Comfort

Hi, I'm Jennifer. As a Galen-Certified Myotherapist, my passion is helping your dog live a more comfortable and mobile life. I use a gentle, hands-on approach that's guided by your dog, focusing on easing muscular tension and supporting their long-term wellness.

The process is a partnership. We'll typically start with a series of sessions to build a strong foundation for improvement, eventually moving to a regular maintenance plan to keep your dog feeling their best.

The Foundation Program: A Transformative Start

To ensure the best possible results, all new clients begin with this comprehensive three-session program. This isn't just a package of sessions; it's a dedicated process designed to build a complete picture of your dog's lifestyle, environment and needs, earn their trust, and achieve noticeable, meaningful progress.

Session 1: The In-Depth Consultation (Approx. 90 minutes)

Our first meeting is the most important. We'll start with a calm discussion of your dog's history and your wellness goals. I'll then conduct a detailed movement and postural observation and a gentle hands-on assessment to understand their unique patterns. This session is all about building trust and creating a complete picture of your dog's needs.

Sessions 2 & 3: Targeted Myotherapy (60 minutes each)

These follow-up sessions are dedicated to hands-on myotherapy. Building upon the findings from our first meeting, we will work to ease tension in key areas, support mobility, and improve your dog's daily comfort. We will always work at your dog's pace, in a way that feels safe and relaxing for them.  Learn more about Positive PACT® here

The Final Outcome: A Clear Path Forward

By the end of the Foundation Program, you will have a clear understanding of your dog's muscular patterns and a personalized plan for their ongoing wellness including personalized lifestyle and environmental recommendations.  Your vet will receive a comprehensive report which includes the movement and posture analysis, and session notes.

Ongoing Wellness & Maintenance Sessions

For dogs who have completed an initial myotherapy program, regular maintenance sessions are the key to preserving long-term comfort and mobility.

Maintenance Session (60 minutes)

Think of this as a regular "tune-up" for your dog's body. These sessions are designed to:

  • Address any new minor muscular tensions before they become significant.

  • Maintain the suppleness of the soft tissue.

  • Support lasting mobility and an active, happy lifestyle.

Maintenance sessions are available to all returning clients. New clients, please start with our Initial Observation & First Session.

Maintenance Session (60 minutes) - $165

"Working with Jennifer was a game-changer for our 10-year-old lab, Max. After the foundation program, he was moving with an ease we hadn't seen in years. It's the best investment we've ever made in his health."

Frequently Asked Questions

📍Do I need to be present for the session?

Yes, absolutely. Your presence is essential for a successful session for two key reasons. First, you are the most important person in your dog's life, and your calm presence is vital for them to feel safe and relaxed. Second, this process is a partnership. A huge part of my work is sharing my observations with you in real-time and providing you with aftercare advice and techniques you can use to support your dog between our sessions. You are a key member of your dog's wellness team!

📍What if my dog is nervous or shy?

This is my specialty. My approach is 100% dog-led, which is perfect for nervous or shy dogs. The entire session is a conversation with your dog, and we will only proceed in a way that feels safe and builds their confidence.

For many dogs, the first session is less about deep muscle work and more about building trust. There is never any pressure on them to perform or accept anything they are unsure of. My goal is to make this a calm, positive, and empowering experience for them.

📍Can myotherapy hurt my dog?

My entire approach is built on the principle of "do no harm." Galen Myotherapy is a gentle, dog-led practice, which means I am highly skilled at reading your dog's body language.

While working on a very tight or sore muscle might create a momentary sensation of release (much like a person getting a knot worked out), it should never be painful. If a dog ever shows a sign of discomfort, we simply stop, reassess, and change our approach. Your dog's comfort and trust are my highest priorities.

📍How do I pay?

Payment for the Foundation Program is handled online via a secure link after you book your first session. Maintenance sessions can be paid for at the time of booking.

📍Where do the sessions take place?

All myotherapy sessions are conducted in the comfort of your own home, where your dog is most relaxed. My primary service area is the San Fernando Valley. However, time permitting, I am happy to travel to surrounding areas; travel fees may apply. Please contact me to discuss.

📍What is your cancellation policy?

I understand that life happens! If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, I kindly request at least 24 hours' notice. This allows me to offer the time slot to another dog in need. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice, or missed appointments, will be charged the full session fee.

As I know true emergencies can occur, I do offer a one-time waiver for a last-minute cancellation due to an unavoidable emergency. Thank you so much for your understanding.

📍What is your refund policy?

If you need to cancel a booking entirely before your scheduled appointment, we provide a 90% refund. For the $595 Foundation Program, the refund is $535.50. For a $165 maintenance session, the refund is $148.50. The 10% administrative fee is retained to cover non-refundable payment processing costs and the time dedicated to securing your appointment.

Please note that no refunds are available for any service once the session has commenced. We appreciate your understanding.
